(a) Jolt Test: One third of the cartridges within the first
group shall be jolt tested in accordance with MIL-STD-331
(b) Jumble test: One third of the cartridges within the first
group shall be jumble tested in accordance with MIL-STD-331
(c) Drop test: One third of the cartridges within the first
group shall be subjected to the 40-foot drop test of 4.5.3.3
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Preservation and packaging.
The unit package shall contain one
cartridge.
* 5.1.1 Level A. The cartridge shall be preserved and packaged in accord-
ance with Code of Federal Regulations 49 CRF 171-178.
5.1.2 Level B.
Not applicable.
5.1.3 Level C. Not applicable.
5.2 Packing
* 5.2.1 Level A. The cartridge, preserved and packaged in accordance with
5.1.1, shall be packed in a container in accordance with Code of Federal
Regulations 49 CFR 171-178.

5.2.3 Level C. Not applicable.
* 5.3 Marking. Unit packages and shipping containers shall be marked in
accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-129 and Code of Federal Regula-
tions 49 CFR 171-178.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The cartridge is intended for use in Mk 46 torpedoes.
Detonation of the cartridge seines to release lead ballast from an
exercise torpedo by fracturing the ballast retaining bolt.
